Yoga courses with Sheila Baker

Touchstone – a creative sadhana

“Living creatively can be a sădhana towards something within.” Jyoti Sahi

This new course offers an opportunity for experienced yoga practitioners to explore and deepen their practice in an imaginative way, using the traditional values of yoga as a touchstone or support. It will look at our potential for living more creatively within ourselves and within our lives.

Yoga is used as a means of achieving both self awareness and self expression. This course brings a fusion of yoga practice and creative awareness, both of which can reveal a deeper inner space.

Participants will be encouraged to develop a small creative project throughout the year with ongoing work between weekends. There will be opportunities for extra support via one to one lessons if required. The course will be complete in itself, but there will be the possibility for continuation.

The core of the course consists of an introductory day and four interlinked weekends over 12 months, all based in Leicestershire.
Three of these weekends are non-residential. Two will be held at the Old Chapel, Stonesby Community Centre. A third will be held at Little Farm Studio, Old Dalby. The residential weekend will be held at Launde Abbey.

There will also be three interwoven optional extra seminars. One is the possibility of a long weekend in Montpellier with Peter Hersnack, another will be a creative day workshop at an artist’s studio. There will also be the possibility of a two week retreat in South India in January 2011.
