Two yoga courses in 2009 with Sheila Baker

Touchstone – a creative sadhana

Yoga can help us to be more self-aware and to find self expression. Living creatively is a sadhana towards something within. Focused practice can reveal an inner space and open up our potential to live more creatively within ourselves and within our lives.

This new course offers an opportunity for experienced practitioners to explore and deepen their own practice in an imaginative way, whilst using the traditional values of yoga as a touchstone or support. The core of the course consists of three interlinked weekends over twelve months, two non residential and one residential, and all based in Leicestershire.

There will also be three interwoven optional extra seminars. One will be a long weekend in Montpellier with Peter Hersnack, another will be a creative workshop in an artist’s studio and the third will be a two week course in South India. The course will be complete in itself, but there will be the possibility for continuation. For details, 01664 464 852.

Sheila Baker’s sixth course at the Green Hotel is from January 17th to 30th 2009. This well established course consists of twice daily yoga sessions and daily visits to temples, flower markets, palaces, craft centres etc.

The venue is the simple and beautifully restored Chitteranjan Palace which is enclosed in colourful gardens yet surrounded by the vibrancy of city life in Mysore. It is a perfect place to explore both India and personal yoga practice.

Sheila Baker’s courses are informed and inspired by the teachings of Desikachar and her work as a designer/lecturer.
