About Derwent Training:
Derwent Training started as an independent First Aid Training company back in March 2004 to provide onsite training for firms for many surrounding areas and also run regular in house classes in the Derby City and Tamworth area.
Our company has great resources; from HSE, Resuscitation Council’s, Ofsted, First aid Industrial Body (FAIB) and advice from many illness charities such as Asthma, Diabetes, etc. along with an A&E consultant for any extra advice.

All of our trainers have current practical experience of First Aid (being members of Derby Mountain Rescue Team) and are qualified teachers or lecturers. We like to provide our candidates with confidence in doing what they need to do and we find that an easy learning environment, with good knowledge topped with a small hint humour works perfectly.

Our trainers use many practical training methods and as part of the course they use resources such as laptop and digital projector which includes various related short video clips. We also use many visual pictures to help build a profile of conditions and show different types of medicine samples.

All course members are given our unique first aid guidance card, which is more user friendly than a first aid manual, they are also issued with a First Aid Belt pouch, which includes a Vent Aid (CPR Mask) and powder free Vinyl gloves. We pride ourselves in preparing the First aider to protect themselves which means they start providing First Aid in a safer environment and confidently.
On all of our courses we provide enough manikins for ratio of 1:3 / 1:2, this enables the candidate to stay actively involved with the training and have plenty of hands on practice.

Upon successful completion of the course we will then supply two first aid certificates for each successful candidate, one A5 size and one personal credit card size.
This certificate can be valid in the workplace.
